Hades is the Greek god who is ruler and King of the Underworld, the Realm of the Dead. Brother of Zeus, Demeter, Hera, and the other first generation Olympians, Hades is a grim but just god who rules over the Dead while not representing Death themself. Hades is also the god of treasures, since gold, silver and precious gems come from the Underworld.
Most famous for his rape (kidnapping/forced marriage) of Persephone, I think there might be another explanation for the relationship of the King and Queen of the Underworld.
