Ares is the Greek god of war. While no sane person relishes war, most cultures developed a war deity, out of defensive necessity if not aggressive empire-building. In addition to Ares' military prowess he is a lover, and his relationship with Aphrodite has been called by one of my Hellenist customers to be one of the most authentic, organic expressions of love.
It felt right that there should be a man-made ingredients in a formula dedicated to the God of War, so there is the synthetic (and very aggressively sexy!)Red Musk in it along with the blend for the planetary Mars oil. And yes, I did have Kevin Smith in mind during the formulation ;-)
