Spooky, strange and medicinal, Alien oil uses essential oils correspondent to Pluto and Mercury. Originally designed for a Halloween haunted house tour, so it is startling and scary. I would be reluctant to wear this one at bedtime, but of course that is the time you are most likely to get abducted, if you are really into that.

Since the 1800's, writers like Mary Shelley, Jules Verne and H. G. Wells invited us to imagine the future, space, and beings from outer space. While humans have always looked to the stars and wondered, "Can we really be alone in the Universe?" the space program of the 1960's brought the question from speculative to immediate, it seemed at the time. Star Trek activated the collective unconscious surrounding the nature of aliens, and a national and global fascination with aliens was ignited. Since then we have imagined all sorts of intergalactic residents, from humanoid to intelligences unrecognizable as life forms and from benevolent saviors of mankind to malevolent monsters out to annihilate the world. In other words, they are in many ways reflections of ourselves, often distorted in the funhouse mirror to more closely examine the bizarre or godlike aspects of our psyches.

Many of us involved with Faery Shamanism and Spirituality workings have remarked on how parallel alien interactions with humans are to the old faery tale myths. The similar components included being kidnapped, sometimes bizarre sexual experiences involving hybrid children, and food taboos and/or offerings. The main differences is that the places Faery kidnappers take you is down into the Earth, and the Aliens take you above the Earth. I offer you two contemplations on this mythopoetic shift: 1) Perhaps our global values and attentions have turned away from the Earth and we are casting our lots to the uncertain stars (since we are nearing completion with the wrecking of our home planet) 2) perhaps the aliens and stellar consciousnesses are the common ancestors to our Earthling Fey, the ones who stayed in the Heavens when our Fey fell with Lucifer to the Earth.

Natural Magick Spirit Guide oils are made with reverence and research to be pleasing devotional blends for the animals or beings they are named for. I research legend and lore, and try to use oils of plants that represent the guide, what it does and what it smells like. The Natural Magick process of using planetary and elemental influences, correspondence, and high quality ingredients is especially appropriate for invoking the nature of your guide.

Spirit Guide oils are not made as fakey perfumes with marketable names. Fox really does smell wild and clever, Bear is somber and impressive, Angel is ethereal and bright, Dragon smells like smoke and scales.

Anoint yourself to attune to your totem, or pour into offering bowls or aromatherapy lamps, or anoint statues or fetish objects. These oils are in beautiful round 1/2 ounce bottles, blended in 100% coconut and/or jojoba oil, so with any care they should last a very long time. They are priced according to the ingredients most resembling the guide so named.
